HEMLOCK CANOE WORKS · FINGER LAKES, NEW YORK

Let's Go Paddling

Canoeing has a way of slowing things down.

Early mornings on quiet water. Evenings around a campfire. Long days outside where emails and freeways feel far away.

Sometimes it’s adventures with close friends. Sometimes it’s quiet solitude.

Wherever the water takes you, we hope a Hemlock canoe helps you get there.

Your Adventure. Your Story.
Your Hemlock.

Hemlock Canoes

Hemlock Canoe Works is a small canoe shop in the Finger Lakes region of New York. For more than 45 years our team has been designing and building lightweight composite canoes for paddlers across the country.

Our boats reflect a blend of tradition and modern materials. Many of our designs trace their lineage to the work of founder Dave Curtis and other influential canoe designers. Today our small team continues that tradition—building each canoe carefully in our shop before it heads out onto the water.

The builders

Handcrafted

Every Hemlock canoe begins and ends in our shop in western New York. It’s where designs are refined, boats are built, and paddlers stop by to talk boats and plan their next trip.

At the heart of Hemlock Canoe is the small team of craftspeople who care deeply about good design and time on the water. Building canoes is a labor of love, and our team loves every day of it.

We keep the shop intentionally small so that every boat receives careful attention at each step of the build.
